Whitefish
On a lakeside Montana property with 150+ feet of beach frontage, this property presented unique opportunities and challenges—namely a stand of mature trees and a natural spring on the building site. Instead of fighting with the notion of the trees blocking the view, our team gracefully yet meticulously designed the home to utilize the trees for view corridors and privacy. Each room was designed to take full advantage of the views and afford the owners their desired privacy.
A dynamic exterior is balanced by undulating forms and varying rooflines. Glass, metal, horizontal cedar rain screen siding, and locally-sourced stone wrap the exterior in a warm, contemporary interpretation. Just steps from the water, an expanded outdoor living area with a built-in pizza oven, barbecue, and wood-burning fireplace are enjoyed year-round.
